Focus and Scope

The Caribbean Journal of Educational Research, RECIE (Acronym in spanish) is the academic journal of the Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña (ISFODOSU). The publication began in 2016 under the name of Journal of Salomé. Dominican Journal of Education (first epoch). The Journal is edited by the Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña, a state institution of the Dominican Republic responsible for the training of teachers required by the Dominican education system. The Caribbean Journal of Educational Research publishes academic articles on teachers training, curricular design, educational diagnosis, national and international educational policies, effective learning and teaching methods in vulnerable environments. It aims to contribute to the development of theories and solutions to educational problems in the Caribbean region and other geographic areas. Researchers and education professionals have at their disposal this tool to publicize their educational research work.

The journal has as purpose, to:

  1. Encourage discussion of ideas in educational research.
  2. Promote critical thinking and appropriate methodological techniques for addressing educational issues.
  3. Disseminate original international and national articles that outline new guidelines on teaching and learning processes.
  4. Respond to the educational needs and experiences of teachers who work with student populations in marginal areas.
  5. Encourage multidisciplinary approaches that give new answers to the way people learn.
  6. Disseminate articles related to innovation in the teaching and learning of sciences and humanities, through a multi-transdisciplinary approach, taking into account the appropriate use of technologies.

Two issues are published each year (January and July) and 10 articles are published in each issue. It is recommended that authors carefully read this editorial policy and the rules for authors before submitting their contribution. The sending and processing of the texts and their edition is completely free.

Articles are accepted in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
