Abstract
Educational innovation linked to technological development influences institutional growth, but presents challenges in adopting innovative models, which are necessary to understand the dynamics of this field. This research analyzes trends in educational innovation through scientific production in the Web of Science database (2004-2024). A bibliometric study was conducted, employing indicators and tools to map thematic structure, co-occurrence networks, and collaboration between countries, based on 5,025 publications. The results show an increase in publications related to educational reforms, educational policy, and higher education, with significant international collaboration, but a scarcity of emerging topics and areas of disruptive innovation. It is concluded that, in the period analyzed, educational innovation has not consolidated specialized research fronts with high centrality and simultaneous density in the so-called driving themes, which from the bibliometric perspective indicates that the field is in a phase of dispersion and thematic reconfiguration rather than in a phase of consolidated maturity.
